    Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami

    From the book “Sri Vraja-maṇḍala-parikramā”:

This is where Jaṭilā’s daughter Kuṭilā, due to her wicked nature, would always direct all kinds of accusations at Śrīmatī Rādhikā. She would falsely accuse Rādhikā of various transgressions. Once, she saw Rādhikā meeting with Kṛṣṇa at this place. She locked Them inside a room and created an uproar by which she was able to gather together Pūrṇimā, her mother Jaṭilā, her older brother Abhimanyu and her younger brother Durmada. She announced to them that she had locked her disgraced sister-in-law in this room together with Kṛṣṇa. When the door was opened, however, everyone saw Rādhājī worshipping a deity of Kālī. What happened next? They all began to chastise Kuṭilā for making false accusations. Kuṭilā pulled a long face and walked away. [Dūṣaṇa means “disgracing” or “dishonouring”.]

    Rajashekhara Dasa

From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

The word ‘dushana’ means to ‘criticize’ or ‘find fault’ and this is the place (sthana) where Jatila’s daughter Kutila, Abhimanyu’s antagonistic sister, tried to find fault with Radharani. The Bhakti-ratnakara says, “Kutila takes great pleasure finding faults with Radha’s behavior.” One day Kutila suddenly found Radha and Krishna secretly meeting each other in a room at this place and quickly locked the door from outside while shouting aloud that she had caught Radharani in a compromising position with Her secret lover. Due to the loud noise created by Kutila, everyone came running, including Jatila and Abhimanyu. When everyone had gathered around, Kutila triumphantly unlocked the door, but to everyone’s surprise, all they saw was Radharani very peacefully engaged in worshiping a Deity of goddess Kali. Everybody suddenly turned on Kutila and condemned her for falsely criticizing Radharani. The bewildered Kutila was thus exposed and made to look like an envious fool. What Kutila and the others didn’t know was that Krishna had very expertly disguised Himself as the Deity of goddess Kali.
