Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
The Deity of Vraja-Mohana was originally installed by Shrila Narottama Dasa Thakura during the famous Kheturi festival in Bengal, which was the first-ever Gaura Purnima celebration held to commemorate the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. All the great Vaishnavas of the time attended the Kheturi festival, including Lord Nityananda’s beloved consort Jahnava Mata and her son Balabhadra. During this festival five sets of Deities were installed by Narottama Dasa, while Narottama’s dear most companion Srinivasa Acharya performed the abhisekha ceremony for these Deities. Vraja-Mohana is the only Deity installed at the Kheturi festival to have been brought to Vrindavana although there is the pratibhu-murti of Narottama’s Gauranga Mahaprabhu presently being worshiped at the Radha Gokulananda Mandira.
