    Rajashekhara Dasa

From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

This is the place where the famous banyana tree known as Yavaka Vata once stood. It is known locally as Kishori Vata and although the original banyan tree has disappeared, one can still see Kishori-kunda. There is also a Rasa-mandala that marks the spot where rasa-lila was performed. Kishori Vata is where Krishna decorated Radharani’s lotus-feet with yavaka (red lac). There is a temple here where one can see the Deities of Krishna-Kishori. Radharani is sometimes called Kishori and this name refers to the period in Radha’s life starting from the age of seven, referred to as Her kaishori-lila, when Radha performed innumerable amorous pastimes with Krishna during Her youth.
