    Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami

    From the book “Sri Vraja-maṇḍala-parikramā”:

    This temple is located in the northern part of Vṛndāvana on the bank of the Yamunā. In 1871 AD this temple was built by Queen Indrajīta-kumārī and was famous for its hospitality. The Queen’s husband was Hitakāma Ṭhākura, a king of Ṭīkarī in the district of Gayā in Bihāra. Three deities reside in this temple – Śrī Rādhā- Kṛṣṇa, Śrī Rādhā-Gopāla and Śrī Laḍḍū-Gopāla.

    The Tekari Rani Mandira is one of the finest examples of traditional North Indian temple archtecture. This magnificently ornate temple was built in the year 1871 by Rani Inderjit Kunver, the queen of Tekari, a small principality which was located in the State of Bihar in Eastern India.
