Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
According to the Govinda-lilamrita by Shrila Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami, in the unmanifest pastimes (aprakata-lila), Radharani and Her gopi girlfriends bathe here at Manasa-pavana-ghata every day at noon. This pastime is a part of the ashta-kaliya-lila or eight-fold daily pastimes enacted between Radha and Krishna. After bathing at Manasa-pavana-ghata, Radharani goes to meet Krishna on the banks of Radha-kunda and then enjoys various loving pastimes until it is time to go to Surya-kunda to worship the sun-god, before returning home to Yavata in the late afternoon. It is said that of all the bathing places in the whole of Vraja, Manasa-pavana-ghata is Radha’s favorite. Just after the transcendental appearance of Radha-kunda and Shyama-kunda which occurred at midnight, Krishna immediately bathed in Radha’s newly made kunda and named it as Radha-kunda. Radharani then came to this celebrated ghata and bathed in Krishna’s newly made kunda while giving it the name Shyama-kunda. At that time, Radharani said that anyone who bathed in Shyama-kunda with firm faith and devotion would achieve the same level of divine love for Krishna, equal to Her own love.
