From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
This small temple not far from the Dirgha Vishnu Temple contains the Deity of Mathura Devi, who is worshiped as the presiding Deity of Mathura Puri. Mathura Devi is one of the expansions of Yogamaya. In the Adi-Varaha Purana, the following statement is found, “Mathura Mandala extends throughout twenty-four kosas and is decorated with twelve forests, dvadasha-vanas, where Mathura Devi, the bestower of all accomplishments resides.”
