From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
Krishna often boasted about His prowess in front of the gopis who usually laughed to hear Krishna’s boasting words. While at this place Krishna requested the gopis that they should no longer laugh at Him, or try to make fun of Him, or tease Him, as they had done in the past, as it was really vexing for a great hero like Himself. The word ‘pare’ as in ‘ke pare’ means ‘in the past’ and ‘paresan’ means ‘vexing’, or ‘troubling’ and thus the village received the name Parehi.
