    Rajashekhara Dasa

From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

This is the spot where Shrila Narayana Bhatta performed his bhajana and which later became the site of his samadhi. When he arrived in Vrindavana in 1545 from his home in South India at the tender age of just fourteen, he accepted the Goswamis Rupa and Sanatana as his shiksha-gurus. He was appointed by Shrila Sanatana Goswami as an assistant pujari of Lord Madana-Mohan under the guidance of Krishna Dasa Brahmachari. He later became the diksha disciple of Krishna Dasa, who was himself a disciple of Gadadhara Pandita. Narayana Bhatta dedicated his life to serving the holy land of Vrindavana, and His contribution to the mission of Lord Chaitanya and the Six Goswamis in revealing the holy places of the holy dhama is extremely important. It is said that Narayana Bhatta was able to complete all the excavation work left unfinished by Rupa and Sanatana. Simply by meditating on his own small Balagopala Deity named Ladlayaji, he was able to discover a number of important Deities that had been lost over time, besides many important lila-sthanas where Krishna had performed His pastimes. It is said that in his famous book Vraja-bhakti-vilasa, he has mentioned all the holy places formerly established by Vajranabha Maharaja that are detailed in the Adi-Varaha Purana. It is believed that Narayana Bhatta entered samadhi in the year 1643.
