This very beautiful and isolated lake is also called Chandrabhaga-kunda and there is a famous temple of Shiva here known as Chandeshwara Mahadeva. It is one of the largest kundas that remains of the eighty-four sacred kundas of Kamyavana mentioned in the Vishnu Purana.
