    Rajashekhara Dasa

From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

This secluded and peaceful place is where Krishna was playing with His friends. They became so absorbed in their pastimes, that they completely forgot what time of day it was. It is mentioned in the Bhakti-ratnakara, that Krishna and His friends played non-stop for twenty four hours, which is equivalent to eight praharas or ‘atho praharas’. Thus the name of this village became Ata Grama derived from the word atho, or ashta, meaning eight. Now the village is known as Akata which is a corrupted form of the ancient name Ata Grama.
