Description

Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
One day Krishna and Balarama were herding Their cows at this place. In order to have some fun, the cowherd boys began to play various games. In one of the games the cowherd boys began paying their prostrated obeisances before Krishna and Balarama as if they were great saintly sages. Krishna and Balarama in turn began giving their blessings to each of the cowherd boys by saying, “Kalyana ho! Kalyana ho!” meaning ‘may you be blessed with auspiciousness’, just as the great saintly sages do. Therefore this village became known as Kalyanpura.
