Description

Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
This is the village where Krishna’s dear friend Sudama was born. When Krishna came here while herding His cows, He met with Sudama and they became very close friends. It appears that the name of this village is derived from ‘godrstavana’, which means ‘the forest where cows gather’ and this is one of the places where Krishna would call all His cows together and count them before returning to Nandagrama in the evening.
