From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

The word ‘sirsha’ means ‘foremost’ and refers to all the prominent demigods in the universe. According to the Bhakti-ratnakara, there is a very beautiful lake here known as Devasirsha-sthana-kunda, where the foremost amongst the demigods assembled to offer their prayers in glorification of Lord Shri Krishna, “Another very potent pastime place named Devasirsha-sthana-kunda is beautifully situated here. The devatas joyfully offered their prayers to Lord Krishna here as He herded the cows with His friends.”
