Description

Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami
From the book “Sri Vraja-maṇḍala-parikramā”:
This pond (talaiyā) is situated near Vaṁśivaṭa. When the gopīs became thirsty during rāsa, Śrī Śyāmasundara made this pond with His flute and satisfied all the gopīs with its luscious water. Nowadays, this pond lies in a completely dilapidated condition with very little water, but still, people take ācamana here with faith.
Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
This kunda is near Vamsi Vata and is said to have been created by Krishna, who is also known as Shyama, by pushing His flute into the ground so as to satisfy the gopi’s thirst after they had been dancing all night with Him in the rasa-lila at Vamsi Vata. The word ‘tala’ or ‘talaiya’ generally refers to a large lake. This tala however is usually dry except sometimes in the rainy season.
