    From the book “Sri Vraja-mandala-parikrama”:

This village is situated one mile from the village of Bāṭī. Here, one can take darśana of Balabhadra-kuṇḍa and Dāūjī Temple.

    Rajashekhara Dasa

From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

In this village there is a very ancient Deity of Lord Sankarshana known locally as Dauji. The name ‘Dauji’ means ‘elder brother’ and refers to Lord Balarama who is Lord Krishna’s elder brother. The Deity was found in the nearby kunda known as Sankarshana Kunda which is called by the locals as Balabhadra-kunda. Balabhadra is another name of Lord Balarama. Local panditas say that this kunda is the actual Sankarashana-kunda of Bahulavana forest that is mentioned in the Adi-Varaha Purana, as this kunda is situated within the area of Bahulavana forest. To substantiate their claim they say that the Deity of Lord Sankarshana (Balarama) was found here in this kunda. It is said that Sakana village got its name from the word ‘chach’ which means ‘buttermilk’ and when Krishna and Balarama and the cowherd boys were grazing Their cows here, the gopis came and fed Them with chach (buttermilk) at this place.
