Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami
From the book “Sri Vraja-mandala-parikrama”:
Two miles south-east of Aḍīṅga is Mādhurī-kuṇḍa, the charming place of Rādhā’s dear sakhī Mādhurī. It is also the place where the poet Mādhurī dāsajī performed his bhajana.
Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
This is the famous village where one of Radharani’s close friends used to live. Her name was Madhuri and she was always engaged in decorating Radha and Krishna with various kinds of fragrant forest flowers. The kunda in this village known as Madhuri-kunda was named after her and it has been said that anyone who bathes in the kunda will be freed from all the accumulated sins of many, many births. Unfortunately, at the present time the kunda has dried-up and in disrepair and bathing is no longer possible. Near the banks of the kunda is an ancient temple containing the Deities of Shri Shri Madhuri-Mohana.
