    Rajashekhara Dasa

From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

This is the place where Krishna and Balarama would play ball games with Their cowherd boyfriends. Gedukkora-kunda has now dried up axcept sometimes in the rainy season. The name Gedukhora is derived from the word ‘gaind’, pronounced as ‘gend’, meaning a ‘ball’ and ‘khora’ means a ‘holy place’.

    Rajashekhara Dasa

From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:

It has been said that there are a total of seven sacred kundas situated around this village where Krishna and Balarama played ball games with their cowherd boyfriends. The kundas are named Genda-kunda, Gendakhora-kunda, Gaidharavana-kunda, Belvana-kunda, Gopi-kunda, Vihara-kunda, and Jalbhara-kunda. The village takes its name from the word ‘gaind’ which means a ball. It is said that at Genda-kunda one can see the impressions of Krishna and Balarama’s mukuts which They took off while They played with Their friends. It is said Balarama would stand at Genda-kunda and throw the ball to Krishna who was standing at Gendukhora-kunda, over five hundred meters away. Only four kundas are presently visible, Gaidharavana-kunda, Gendakhora-kunda, Vihara-kunda and lastly Jalbhara-kunda, where it is said the gopis used to collect drinking water.
