Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
The word papadi’ means a leaf or flower-petal that has fallen from the tree, which usually occurs during the autumn season. At this place the gopis made a throne from these flower petals and leaves, thus the village became known as Papadi. After sitting Radha and Krishna on the flower petal throne they presented Them both with very beautiful crowns made from fresh flowers and they also offered Radha and Krishna nice garlands and other items all made from sweet smelling flowers.
