From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
The samadhi of one of India’s famous kings named Raja Bartrhari is located here at Jnana-vapi. At the height of his powers the king renounced his kingdom and all connection to worldly life and came to this sacred place to perform tapasya and meditation. After his death his samadhi was built on the banks of Jnana-vapi. At the present time the sacred well is in disrepair and the samadhi of Raja Bartrhari although visible is almost inaccessible.
