Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
According to the Bhakti-ratnakara, Krishna and Balarama came here to sport in the waters of this kunda with Their cowherd boyfriends while they were roaming around the city of Mathura, sometime before attending the Dhanur-yajna or ‘Sacrifice of the bow’. Nanda Maharaja and the cowherd men from Vrindavana were also in Mathura with their sons the cowherd boys to attend the Dhanur-yajna and were camped not far from this kunda, which was at that time located on the outskirts of Mathura City.
