Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
According to the parikrama detailed in Bhakti-ratnakara, after Narada-kunda and Ratna-simhasana, the next tirtha mentioned just before Indra-dwaja-vedi is Pali, which has been identified as being the village of Pali Brahmanan. It is mentioned in the Bhakti-ratnakara that Pali is the village of the gopi Palita, who was a ‘yutheshwara”, a group leader of younger gopis who she would train in the service of Radha and Krishna. The Bhakti-ratnakara says, “Pali is the beautiful garden where Palita-yutheshwara used to stay.” A village with the appellative ‘Brahmanan’ attached to its name generally implies that the village is predominantly inhabited by brahmanas. Pali Brahmanan is one of the villages along with Janmanta and Parasauli, where a channel of the Yamuna River once flowed. One can see the light-grey colored silt that is unique to the Yamuna river-bed six to ten feet below the topsoil.
