Description

Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami
From the book “Sri Vraja-maṇḍala-parikramā”:
This place is situated on the Govardhana–Ḍīg road, about six miles from Govardhana. Indra, was an offender of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, yet he kept Surabhī in front of him and shamelessly approached Śrī Kṛṣṇa here to apologise for his offence. The Hindi word for “shameless” is behayā, and therefore this place became known as Beheja. One can have darśana of Sūrya-kuṇḍa, Revatī-kuṇḍa, and the temples of Bihārījī and Śrī Rādhā-Kāntajī here. From Beheja, the parikramā proceeds on via Devaśīrṣa and Muniśīrṣa. Two miles west of Beheja is Ḍīg.
