Description

Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami
From the book “Sri Vraja-maṇḍala-parikramā”:
Pāṭala-grāma is two miles north of Nīma-gaon. Śrīmatī Rādhikā and the sakhīs used to pick pāṭala flowers, or roses, here; hence, this village became known as Pāṭala-grāma. Its present name is Pāḍara.
Rajashekhara Dasa
From the book “Chaurasi-kosa Vraja Mandala Parikrama”:
The Bhakti-ratnakara says, “This is Patal-grama. In sport Radha and Her sakhis picked pinkish roses at this place.” This is where Radharani came with the gopis to pick beautiful pink roses in order to make a garland for Krishna. The word ‘patala’ refers to a pink colored variety of ‘wild rose’.
